This is a bit of old news - yes I've managed to injure my poor knee.
Was rushing up the escalator to catch the train, when I tripped and landed on my knee, against the edge of the escalator stair.
OWWWWWW.
Those are some pretty nasty spokes on them escalators.
Sigh.
The pain was excruciating. I was numb, giddy and I felt blood draining away from my face, and I was still hobbling and looking for a seat. When I finally found one, the a***prick actually put his hand on the empty seat! RAWRRRR!
I was about to faint from the pain when I managed to find a place to sit and promptly held my breath from the throbbing pain that was engulfing my entire being. Still holding my breath, I slowly rubbed the bruise that was beneath my jeans. I could see the concerned faces of other passengers. The pain dissipated after a good 10 mins ( it was one of the most horrendous 10 mins of my life) when I decided to look at my knee. And tadaaaaah~ there it was. A huge blob of blood. =_=
I was handicapped for the rest of the day, and E was nice enough to drop me off along the E-W line so that I didnt have to jostle with the rush hour crowd, and even brought me a drink and a box of plasters earlier on. Thanks E! :D
But the most amazing thing was that the next day, I was able to walk almost normally and could even climb the stairs w/o looking like errrr... let's be politically correct here. Hmmm.. w/o looking like I needed someone to support me. The best part is that now, there's only a small bloody scab where the impact was, an a pretty normal-looking bruise beside it. :D
I really count my blessings that
1) I could regain my balance on the escalator even though it was MOVING.
2) I didn't injure any other part of my body - i.e. hands / fingers / losing any limb!
3) I recovered really fast - I always take ages to heal.
4) I had great friends like E and B who took care of me :)
And I'm really surprised by the positivity that I adopted despite the excruciating agony I experienced. (Argh! Why are there so many "I"s?!)
The only thing that's annoying me right now is the nagging pain in my knee when I walk / climb the stairs. It's like having a stiff shoulder and the pangs of sharp stabs of pain when you attempt to massage it. Bah! But it shall be over soon. :)
The end!
