a lot of misses

sigh it has happened again..

all that happened was a misunderstanding from both parties, that led to a feeling of despair, followed by disappointment and perhaps anguish/anger and being upset.. the other felt misunderstood, and perhaps a tinge of unfairness that the other felt that way..

it was a matter of mischance, that one didn't realise it was the other's 'show', yet quickly went to went to 'see' it.. yet at a moment's falter, all that was thought of was "yes, u can find the word, come on, u can do it", yet at the next moment though another was beckoned, the damage was already done..

it was uncomfortable, both being so tired, and awkward that 'u didnt help me', 'i didnt know u needed help at that time, just that u were searching for a word' :(
it hurts that this has to happen, yet it did, but i could not confront it, as i didnt know how..

well there is perhaps ur side of the story, but two people looking at a sculpture may have their own interpretation of it.. it feels so surreal and hazy now, don't exactly know the exact proceedings that led to the event, just that well, i'm really sorry this had to happen.. and it's not that i willed it to be so..

overwhelmed...and a tribute

Met new people on saturday.

after church at 6pm, norm had me gg for his sunday sch teacher's gathering at one of the teacher's house at bishan.. jln binchang or something.. it's HUGE. anyway, had great catered food ~ fried rice, battered fish fillets, black pepper honey chicken, veg, sotong ball with the cubed bread outside, choc and marble cake, and i cant remember the last one.. heh.. it was a meeting on how the sunday sch went, and what improvements could be made, even though i didnt need to be there, it felt like a good chance to meet people from church, after all, i only know norm and his family.

to Ann : you're so lively and witty! she pays so much attention to what u say, and i bet she makes it a point to remember everything as well.. :) even though i've seen u ard before, i never got the chance to talk to u till today :)

to Serena : thanks for sending me home! i had an interesting conversation with you in the car, even though i may have seemed uncomfortable i really enjoyed talking to u, and yes, i HAVE seen u around church before, just that i wasnt aware it was u. :P thanks for telling me what i am, my inadequacies with life, and that i'm now more aware of myself.. was really shocked that you could see through me tho :P well, though all i can see is that you're a terribly loving mother (da, dear, sweetheart, honey, etc) and that your love for God is soo uninhibited :)

to Elanor and Jason : many thanks for graciously inviting us to your home, with all the food and Elanor making sure that our cups are always filled, with all the lovely 'door gifts' as well :P it's so wonderful that u guys have such an intimate relationship with ur boys despite their ages ( they still play catching with mum even though she's 50!) even though they're extremely well off, they don't have a trace of snobbish air. to Joel and oh no, i forgot his name!! anyway, to Joel, all the best in aki :) you're terribly gifted man.. he drew this amazing collage of the city from a bird's eye view, and it was sooo detailed!! at least 10 a3 pieces, at a tender age of 11!! and to ur older bro, all the best in ur studies!! first year med student, and he's grabbing all the A's.. hahaha.. respect.

doesnt help that my room faces a whole block of windows!! each potentially a noise maker. and not forgetting a tv room.. darn. the radio/tv/music war has started, and my tolerance is gonna be tested.. nm.. i'll blast lush99.5 next week, and they'll beg for mercy. haha. boo.

so site today was behind cineleisure, some nondescript youth hangout place that badly needs some touching up and revival.. according to zada, some parts have bad fengshui.. heh.. to me it looks like someone's backyard.. long forgotten...

and guess what?? there was a LOAD of ham!!!! not english ham, but cockles!!!!!!

wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh that's like one every small mouthful. and yes i was that bo liao to count them all.. hehehehe... it's $2.50 per plate only! and the ham was cooked just right. it was still crunchy, yet the bloody taste wasnt there.. yippy!! luckily the cockles were fresh and i didnt kena any diarrhea.. heehhe.. only wind from the garlic he used... eeeheheeee!!!!


today was my first day at youth service!! and man, there were a lot of songs!!! but luckily i knew all of them!! hehehe.. y do christian songs tend to be so high or low.. there's no middle key for people like me.. :P it was a great sermon! matthew 6:25-34 " do not worry" is a message for the year for me! ehehe.. norman prayed for me, and that was what the message was.. :) *beams*

youth service is really different from the normal sunday one, makes me feel like attending the youth one on a permanent basis even though it's rather different, but also more engaging.. maybe cos there's a higher energy level.. all the same, i really do want to get closer to God, and do His will :) hopefully to go East Timor with Norman when he goes again..yay! ok i gotta do up some posters again... i need inspiration!!!!!

after that norm had to go for his dive master class.. so i went to capital tower's starbucks! had this hot caffe mocha, pretty strong, but still yummy, haha think i'm finally ok with coffee now eh mien?? hahaha...

so after 2 hrs, and reading couple of chapters of Narnia, got back to meet norm.. and then we decided to go tooooooo... Emerald Hill No. 5!!! hehehe.. the owner's son is norm's friend.. but he's in UK now. ehehe...:) great ambience, and we had a bottle of Louis Latour white wine! it was a 2003 bottle, so pretty new.. and i had sooo much trouble drinking it properly! instead of smooth and sweet, as norm felt it was, it was sour and bitter!! only at the end i could taste it properly. -_-... wahahahah and we started playing silly handgames.. and of course i kept losing. hahahaha


norm and i kept toasting to good things, like good grades, happy families, good health, and some other mushy stuff that i bet u guys wouldn't want to read abt.. hahahahah!!! i kept the cork... and now my bag stinks of wine.. haha..
i was pretty tipsy, things started to slow down, i was moving like i was on a boat, and norm kept laughing at me.. u also a bit high ok!! hahaha.... peanuts were soo yummy!! anyway, so in the end, we couldn't really beat the last mrt train and ended up taking a cab.. and of course to save money, i stayed at his place :) yay! no lah, nothing yay-ish lah.. hahaha cos i was wearing rotten shoes.. blisters all over... hopefully gg treetop walk tmr! yay!!

dec30 - dive club party at adventure club in bukit gombak!! yes it's super duper ulu, even tho it's so near CDANS.. the chalet was like a house on stilts.. :P and there were 3 nice chalets, with bedrooms... and the other three WITHOUT!! no beds, only a fridge, toaster oven and hair dryer!! and bare floor!!!!!! ok at least it was wooden. but not parquet...-_-... hahah anyway the aircon was working and started playing games (courtesy of Lihui) at 2130.. and it was win lose or draw!! damn funny lah! ''danny getting narcosiss w/o getting drunk" "pay $15 to spot a whaleshark in aur" "Turkey is halal but you cant find turkey in Turkey" or soemthing like that lah! hahahaha!!! 0_0"""" but it was good fun.. till.... haha so after washing up and all, we headed to the bowling alley... and it was so funny cos there we were, amateurs.. and the rest were getting strikes and stuff.. this young guy got 5 strikes in a row!!! longkang! longkang! hahahahahah 8 of us.. in one lane.. :P so we played till 2.. then headed back for mahjong.. and norm and i were so tired we slept to the side.. him on the floor, me on my thin foam mat.. aiyeeerrrr i slept till my sides hurt.. and luckily at 5am, zhichao sent us back! yay! went to norman's place to sleep... so yes... 5am to 11am explains the .5 night at norman's place.. :P

aiyohhhhhh.. so there i was watching him pumping and sweating it out *0000* hehe.. and i was hugging the bolster.. hahaha..den.. hmm what did we do? errrrr... had a yummy beehoon breakfast.. and errrrrrr...oh my goodness!! i forgot what we did! oh yah!! haha we went to compasspoint~~~ checked out the new shops and all.. and there we went for Ya Kun *heavenly* and had Taturo??! errr.. Talulo?? gelati!!! eheheh.. it tasted just like Fererro!!! and it's real worth the 2.80 we paid.. yummy!!! the shop's called Venezia or something.. :P

so then we headed back to his place.. to watch.. the Lord of the Rings.. oooooo.. it was good!!~~ haha a pity i missed all of them... can imagine the surround sound.. and the cgi... oooooooooo great costumes.. and beooootiful scenery... great soundtrack... excellent man...... :P can't wait when norm plays the 2nd and 3rd installation!

so there we were.. an hour left to the countdown.. den.. hai.. norman found out something... :X shan't say it "jia jia you ben nan nian de jing" and well, lets just say it was a pretty subdued celebration, but honestly, i cant give a damn about new year celebrations.. to me it's just another mark in the calender, a passing of time, today can be just like any other day, so why make such a big fuss out of it?! and we were disgusted by the amt spent on the fireworks we saw on tv.. so much spent on pingpiangpingpiang.. hahaha... but that said, it's a new year, a sorta 'symbolic' gesture of new things to come, a reflection of ur life, etc.. let's just pray that this year will be a forgiving one, much less violence and tragedy and of better things to come..

jan 1- woke up to the 'noise' hehe.. and 'nua-ed' on norm's bed covered with a 400-threadcount bedsheet..:P hahaha.. and we finally headed off to hougang mall at 3 after packing his room *a bit* and lunching... more salad!! hhaha really thank Norman for helping me finish the huge portion of salad i made (t'was for the dive party and only a quarter was eaten)

oh! before gg out, i was having fun taking pics of norm and his silly bolster.. hahaha.. here's a shot that i really like...

anyway, it was pretty funny, walking around hougang central, through the neighbourhood shops, having pandan pancake and some pastries with kopi and tehsi.. walkwalkwalkwalk.. hahaha... it was fun, looking at nothing in particular, chancing upon interesting stuff along the way.. ahaha..till it was time to go back.... and after a while, home... :)
