Twas yet another happy saturday spent with N.
I spent the whole evening the day before (Friday) hopping from shopping centre to shopping centre at Orchard, looking for the elusive wallet to replace my already peeling one. Since N decided to meet me at Cityhall, I decided to pop by Anthropology to check out the Designer Guild wallets I always oogle at. So before lunch, we went to my favourite shop and my 'eyes lit up' (according to N) when I saw this kelly green embossed leather wallet by the aforementioned brand. The price was a major factor in my decision, but N, having been pissed off by my intense search for a new wallet decided to graciously buy the wallet for me :Þ His logic being - 'I would rather pay for u now, and save the money spent on transport for your future wallet-hunting trips.' Kinda warped yet logical at the same time. Anyway.
THANK YOU N~
I'm seriously loving my new wallet. Hurhur~
So after the lovely gift, we went for a late lunch at Vavavoom (Vietnamese restaurant) and N decided to try new dishes, while fuddy-duddy ol' me stuck with the yummy porkchop dry noodles.
N ordered morning glory with sliced beef, prawn and chicken salad rolls, viet fishcakes and the fried tofu we had previously. All I can say is that they were DELISH!
Now I am a very fussy eater. Greens have to taste like normal greens (or what I deem as normal) and not some fantastic grass-y flavour / texture. I was pretty hesitant of the first dish even though it was the chef's recommendation. But it turned out GREAT. The fishcakes were amazing as well, with tumeric to give it that kick~
Lunch ended at 3 and we decided to go for church service that was due to start at 4. I suppose N might wanna fill you in on the details, but in all essence, the service was GREAT. :D
After church, we went to Food for Thought and since we weren't that hungry, we both ordered soups (corn & potato chowder for me, and mushroom for him) and a chinese chicken caesar salad and a chicken basil sandwich for the both of us~
The chicken salad was HUGE and there was a real asian twist to it. It was drizzled with chicken rice soy sauce and the hard-boiled eggs were extremely delish! Even N was drawn to take a bite! :D Typical hard-boiled eggs have solid powdery yolks with a grey outer coat. But the yolks in the salad were soft, orangey and mushy. Really good I tell you. The chicken chunks were real soft as well. Excellent :)
Dinner was wrapped up at Tom's Palette again, and we went to Tampines to hunt for a present for N's mum. I'm glad she liked it :) Oh! And N also bought a new pair of headphones for himself (Audio Technica ATH-SJ3). Wheeeeee~~
Ok the end!
