Yummy eats

After church today, N and I decided to check out Food for Thought, this little cafe at North Bridge Centre that N chanced on a blog. Unfortunately, it was CLOSED on a sunday. Ho hum...

So we went to Seah Street again, this time to check out this Viet place called Va-va-voom (sounds more like a name for a nightclub if you ask me). We ordered a tofu salad, 2 hot lemongrass honey drinks, a dry noodle pork chop (for me) and a Hanoi chicken noodles for N.

I was pleasantly surprised when N pointed out that it's a Christian eating establishment, with not only a crucifix hung on a wall, but also belting out worship songs, which turned to some lounge-ish music later on. Anyway back to the food.

My pork chop noodle thing turned out to be grilled pork chop that was really well marinated and nicely grilled, with fat laksa noodles with some finely sliced cabbage, bean sprouts, fried onions and peanuts as the garnishing. There was a small bowl of vinegar-like sauce in it, and when stirred in the noodles, it was FANTASTIC. Best of all, it was sitting very nicely on N's pocket, priced at less than $8 a bowl :P

Next came the tofu salad, which was like agedashi tofu, Viet style. 8 cubes of fried tofu, crispy on the outside, silky soft on the inside, with sweet vinegar-like sauce and salad garnishing as a side. Yummers~

N's dish was the last to arrive, and basically it was a simple dish of sliced chicken with kuay teow noodles in clear soup. Although it was chicken stock, the soup was clear and had a very clean texture to it. It had quite a refreshing after-taste. Yummy!

Hoho. So after that extremely satisfying meal, N and I went to cedele for dessert, where N had his favourite tahini cake, and I had a double choc chip muffin. :D

Ok that's all for now. Trying my best to fight the temptation against the freitag. Till later!
