Food for thought
Perhaps the best form of happiness (in the secular world) is to enjoy the mundane things in life with your loved ones :)
The joy of studying together, or eating apples after dinner, washing the dishes.
It's not about buying the flashiest car / "it" bag of the season, or dining at the hottest spots or I dunno.. hanging out with the coolest people around.
Or perhaps I'm just waxing lyrical about the things I enjoy in life.
But it's definitely a much cheaper way to enjoy my time on earth ;)
Oh btw, Happy Birthday dear :D
(He's having his take home exam now... shhh)

Reflections
"I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice and to do good in his life. And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God."
(Ecclesiastes 3:12-13)
Here is the verse that I am reflecting upon on my birthday. Yesterday, was the last lesson in school for me and it was one that I would remember for a lifetime. Here we have my professor walking into the classroom looking normal and all. Then suddenly, he breaks the news that today's lesson would be shorter, but before we could rejoice, he suddenly states that the reason for the early dismissal is because his wife is in great pain at the hospital now. Then he adds the devasting news that she is suffering from terminal cancer. He shared with us what his wife told me that she has no regrets in life and advised that everyone should live each moment to the fullest. Now when multitasking and task-juggling is the name of the game, such a reflection makes one pause to think whether what we are all doing is worthwhile. To me I think the most valuable investment is when you put time, effort or money in someone's life, rather than in inanimate things. Cos everything in this world would pass away, but then God made us human beings to last for eternity. That is why I told C that we should live the moment and take every opportunity we have to express our love to the people that mean alot to us. So as I grow one year older today, hopefully, there are many years ahead of happy memories that I would accumulate with C. Love you so much dear.

rainbow
This lovely rainbow was captured at 9 plus in the morning. It was drizzling, the winds were howling, but the sun still shone brightly. I ventured to take a peek from the comforts of my bed and was surprised and amazed at this sight.
Yes it was pretty cloudy and the rainbow didnt last long, perhaps 1/2 hour or so? But it isn't everyday that u get to see a rainbow ;P

Too bad I couldn't capture the full arc of the rainbow though.

Comfort Food Pt II
I have also found my comfort food of nutri soya beans @white sands. Nonetheless, it is not that addictive already or perhaps I have told myself not to get addicted to it. Haha. Concurrently I also bought Walnutcake for my mum who was so happy when eating it for breakfast this morning. And also my Dad was happy with his butter coconut rolls.
Anyway I know that C is now working hard on her master's thesis and I pray that God will give her the concentration power and the strength to carry on till she is done with it. I am sure God will give her wisdom to find the underlying basis of her thesis.
Really thankful to God for all the changes that he has made to our lives recently. Now I can only look forward to a shared walk with C for better or for worse. hehe.

Confirmation
Tralalala~
Saturday was my Confirmation Day, where the Assistant Bishop of Singapore, The Right Revd Rennis Ponniah (phew! it took me a long while to google his name out! ;P) was there to carry out the service.
Anyway.. Confirmation is "...also an Anglican rite where baptised Christians who are 14 years and older and admitted as communicant members (regularly receiving Holy Communion) of the Anglican Church." Basically my name will be registered in the Anglican Church's records, and submitted to the Bishop of Cantebury, which I suppose is the most senior Anglican Bishop in the world.
So there I was.. sitting in an allocated area for people who were to receive confirmation. Revd Ponniah was there giving his sermon ( which I pretty much enjoyed because of the gentle / fatherly way he spoke) and after the sermon was the confirmation itself.
Before that, he told us that different pple have different reactions to the prayer. You would speak in tongue, feel your bones healing, have a sour taste in your mouth (if u were a smoker and you would be released from the habit of smoking), fall to the ground, etc.
So we were all lined up in front of stage, while the Asst. Bishop lay hands on our foreheads and prayed individually to each of us. As there were loads of us that day, I had to wait pretty long for my turn. Ard 20 mins later, it was my turn!
Yippee~ so excited and nervous and my hands were ice cold. And I was quite concerned whether I would fall to the ground ( because of embarrasment I guess :( )But Rev'd Ponniah held my hands (his were sooo warm) and another on my forehead and started praying. I can't remember what he said exactly, but I distinctly remembered him saying "Lord fill this cup that thirsts for You..." Well I didnt quite know that I was a "thirsty cup" till he said it! ;P
So anyhow, he finished the prayer in minutes and I just stood there, thanking the Lord for today and everything. And then IT happened.
My eyes started blinking in super rapid motion (kinda reminds me of the Matrix) and soon after, my tongue started moving by itself. AGAIN! :D Wheeee~
So I just started professing in tongue ( again I have no idea what I was saying / thinking) and a while later, my tongue gradually slowed down and I felt that it was ok for me to return to my seat already.
So I turned, and N was there with a big smile on his face. :D
Heehee.
Ok.. that sums up another BIG event / chapter in my life. Hope this post will somehow make your day. taaa!!~

faith~
Tralalala~ I'm actually pretty uplifted today.
Second day since I've stopped working ( no more income, boo!) and that I've managed to pack a decent part of my room (there's still much more to go tho' :( )
Threw away loads of stuff and it was quite shiok to see so many things go. ( memories / things that are not worth keeping, throw!) Haha.. although N made me keep my old Time magazines. =_=
Oh well, it doesnt hurt to keep the man entertained with the possibility of selling the vintage magazines in like what, 30 years time?! *haha*
Anyhooo, I wanna talk about what happened last Sunday during church service. The SOZO team from Bethel Church, CA were our guests for the weekend and before they started to preach, they gathered ard each individual senior of the church and prayed for them.
My goodness, the Holy Spirit was sooo strong that Pastor Derek ( the head of COOS ) immediately fell to the ground. It was like a tornado that swept through the SOZO team and they started having physical reactions to the Holy Spirit that was burning in them.
That lasted for say 15mins or so, but it was the first time that I actually saw powerful faith and prayer.
Halfway through the service, Dawna de Silva ( the guest speaker) told those who needed to be healed to stand up. ( This was a healing service btw). And told those that were still sitting down, to go pray beside those who were standing.
It got weird for me at this point, and a lot of other people ard too. I was afraid because I hadn't prayed for anyone right in front of him / her, and also I didnt know what to say, etc. But I felt this super strong urge to pray for the lady across the aisle from where I was.
So I thought "Ok lah, I shall take this leap of faith ( which the guest speaker was telling us earlier) and just pray for her lah", after shitloads of procrastination.
I stood to her right, lay my hand on her shoulder and started to pray. A split second later, my tongue started to move like never before! I didnt know what I was saying, but my tongue was on FIRE and started to move on its own! I started praying for her in tongue and felt an immense joy that I was finally able to speak in tongue!! :D
I saw that her hand was placed on her abdomen / womb area, and I put my other hand on top of her hand. I dont know how long I prayed for her, but the prayee said she felt something :) I was pleased and amazed~
Prayer not only blesses the one being prayed for, but the one who prays as well. :o)
If you would be interested to listen to the sermon I went to, go to this link and look for the sermon "The Promises of Healing" on 30th March, 10.30am.
Later I found out that N had actually prayed for me to have a 'spritual improvement' ( ok he didnt say this, but the word just left me for the mo') before the healing prayers started. Whee! Thanks dear~
Later after the service, I found out that the prayee's name was Catherine. Woah! That's my mum's name too! Haha~
An abrupt end, but I'm off for some cuddle time with a new sheep I got from Barang Barang. hehe.. Till later!
