Today was really a really nice day, hehehe. It all started off with helping cheryl move her things from home to hostel. This time round there was not much to carry, jus one cycle with me cheryl and her dad moving the things. Phew. Thought i had to huff and puff again. After the moving we cleaned up the really dirty room and we even cleaned the venetian blinds, using toilet paper to wipe off the dust off each and every blind. Hehe but it was worth it in the end when a nice off white clean looking blinds appeared in front of us juxtaposed with the filthy and black one that it was earlier on. After that we went to orchard to have lunch before my church. Was craving for Northern Indian food but then we ended up eating at wisma atria's food republic. After lunch, it was off to church.
The experience in church was great today as I saw how the children begin to treat worship more seriously. Everytime when i stand infront and see the look of concentration and happiness on the childrens' faces it really gives me the joy and motivation to carry on serving the Lord. Today's lesson was on the Lord's prayer, which is actually an instruction from God himself how to pray and it actually contains many powerful messages behind it.
Furthermore, after church today went to watch the movie "conversations with God" with cheryl. Wat a movie it was, and it really touched my heart. The phrase that i would take away from the movie is, "To Stop making a living and start making a life." The message is simple, we are all created for a specific purpose in this life and we should not be consumed and engrossed in making our living the centrepiece of our life. Already in the Lord's prayer, we pray for God to give us our daily bread, indeed it will be given unto us. Moreover, the book of matthew in chap 6 tell us not to worry about wat to eat and wat to wear, as even creatures in the animal kingdom do not worry about such things, why would God want us to worry. The only worry i feel stems from the fact that we are all pressurised to achieve high grades, high salaries and all the jazz. No doubt material stuff is important, and it is our duty to earn our own living but then we should also focus on making our life a life worth living. That day my mum was making a comment that when an employee dies, all the company does is to send the usual condolences and immediately find a replacement for the deceased employee, so it would be no use to slog so hard for such an unfeeling employee. However, when God is the employer, things are different. Every job would be a bundle of joy, and every day would be a step closer to felicity or eternal happiness. But it is jus so hard for many of us to put everything down and put aside our selfish nature to follow our heart. To me the message of christianity is simple, it is all abt freedom, the use of that freedom, and loving God and neighbour. But the application of the message is difficult and continues to be a daily challenge. And I am so thankful to have Cheryl beside me when i face all these challenges and the unending support that i get. Love you so much dear. Ok i think i better sleep already, tomolo is another long day.

hmmmmm...i could be wrong...but i think 'conversations with God' is more new-age than Christian (i'm assuming your denomination here). so just a word of caution on spiritual discernment :) -enqi
