money money money

hello world.. for those of u out there who are financially well-off, or that u have no worries about spending money, have u ever wondered how hard your parents have worked just to let u get that thing u want, only to chuck it in one corner after u have tired of it?
ok, maybe u haven't thought about it.. but having worked 2 jobs that pay a measly $5 per hour, almost without any benefits, suddenly whenever i wanna get something, i think about how long/hard i've worked. trust me, during the x'mas season, and working in sales, getting $5/hour is seriously not worth it. so get back to ur parents, have u ever gone on shopping trips with them, and taking them as ur 'banks' and they're willing to spend like over $300 on u at once? it didn't happen to me, but to someone i know.
in the past, i didn't really consider how hard my parents had to work. i'm considered rather well-off, in the sense that i could buy things without really thinking about the price/ how much i'm spending (i don't go for branded stuff tho).. sooooooooooooo i occured to me.. how the hell have i been wasting money??!!
i'm considered rather thrifty, but others with similar background as i may behave in opposite. argh, feel what i'm saying's rather constipated, can't really get my point across. anyway we shouldn't be so materialistic, but it's rather innate, having been brought up in this materialistic society. we should look to the things that we really need, and satisfy the occasional want.
